Meet Red, a 7-year-old pit bull mix who tips the scales at about 53 lbs and brings plenty of personality along with him. Red's story started out rough, with a prior owner forced to give him up because of housing rules. But thanks to some quick thinking at a vet's office and a willing rescue, Red is safe and ready for a real home now. This guy is full of energy and affection. Wherever he is, his whole body is involved in the tail wags. He loves to greet people and is always looking to spread some joy. Red gets along well with cats—he lived with them before and even charmed the resident cats at the pound. While he hasn’t been in a home with other dogs, he’s handled the company of other dogs at the pound just fine, even the feisty ones. Red walks on leash and can get excited, so be ready for a little pulling, but also lots of enthusiasm for daily adventures. He isn’t house trained yet and is looking for someone who can help him get the hang of it. Leash walks, positive routines, and patience will help Red thrive in his next chapter.
