About Hugo
Hugo is a 2-year-old Rat Terrier mix who packs a lively personality into a small, 13-pound body. He radiates cheerfulness and isn't shy about jumping into play with other dogs, big or small. Despite an uncertain startāfinding himself at risk due to crowded shelter conditionsāHugo kept his tail wagging and his optimism intact. Since coming into foster last November, Hugoās made big strides working alongside a professional trainer and a dedicated foster team. Initially, he had some protective tendencies and didnāt always like to share, but thanks to ongoing structure and consistent training, heās learning how to navigate the world with more confidence. Hugo picks up new routines fast, enjoys learning, and thrives on both physical and mental challenges. Heās house-trained, crate-trained, great in the car, and quick to make friends once introduced. Hugo does best with adults who have experience managing energetic terriers and can continue providing guidance and structure. He tends to be vocal when excited and wants to be in on the action. For the right person or couple, heāll bring contagious enthusiasm and plenty of fun. His trainer will provide a go-home lesson and follow-up support to make Hugoās transition as smooth as possible.
