About Hugo

Hugo weighs in at 65 lbs and embodies the classic senior pittie mix vibe—he’s mellow, loving, and still eager for a fresh start. At around 10 to 12 years old, he carries a gentle wisdom but doesn’t let age slow him down. Hugo’s story isn’t the prettiest: he wandered Houston’s streets with a benign tumor and rough-cropped ears, but he still trusted people and took leash walks in stride. After rescue, he underwent neuter surgery, tumor removal, and major dental work without complaint. His bloodwork came back healthy, and he’s got a sturdy attitude about life’s challenges. Hugo’s the kind of dog who just wants a comfy bed, regular meals, an occasional stroll, and a little peace and quiet. He’s got some arthritis, so homes with fewer stairs are ideal. His hearing is iffy—maybe truly limited, maybe a little selective. Either way, he adapts and happily takes life as it comes. Hugo gets along with dogs, kids, and even cats, making him an easy fit for a laid-back household. He’s currently in foster care in Fort Collins, Colorado. All adopters must travel to Colorado to meet him since transport isn’t available. Make the last chapter of Hugo’s life a good one—he’s ready to be someone’s loyal companion.
