Tucker
AvailableTucker is a 3-year-old, 2-month-old Beagle currently located in Little Chute, WI. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and requires specific supports due to his fearful nature and ongoing adjustment needs. Tucker gets along well with other animals, and will thrive best in a home with a confident dog companion. He is sensitive to noise and sudden changes, so a calm, routine environment suits him best. Tucker is a Pisces—no wonder his tender side shines once he feels secure.
About Tucker
Tucker is a three-year-old Beagle who’s spayed, up to date on vaccines, and needs a truly patient adopter. He’s extremely fearful of strangers and reacts to sudden noise or movement by trying to escape—expect some initial retreating when new people visit. Tucker does well with all other animals and bonds especially closely with other dogs; adopters must have a confident dog already in the home to help guide him. He cannot have plush toys or standard potty pads, as his nervous energy can lead him to shred and ingest them. Despite his anxieties, he will become a devoted snuggler once he feels safe and understood—his loyalty runs deep for those who earn his trust. Work-from-home or highly flexible schedules are required, no crates or kenneling, and kids in the home must be 10 or older. He’ll need ongoing professional training, and his adoption starts on a foster-to-adopt basis, including at least three meet-and-greet visits. Tucker needs someone who truly wants him—not just any Beagle—and who recognizes he’s a long-term project, not an instant companion. Progress will be slow and nonlinear, and continued support is non-negotiable. If you appreciate his quirks and honor his story, Tucker can be the sweetest companion. What are you waiting for? Questions about Tucker
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Beagles like Tucker do best in a calm, secure home that provides routine and companionship, ideally with another confident dog. A gentle household helps him feel safe and build trust.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Beagles generally enjoy regular outdoor time and walks but Tucker’s current fears mean quiet, secure spaces are most important—think fenced-in yards or calm walking areas, never high-traffic environments.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Tucker’s requirements limit homes to kids 10 and up due to his fearfulness and need for gentle interactions. Beagles can be family-friendly, but he needs calm, older children only.
