About Sherman

Sherman spent his early life at Ridglan Farms, where days were limited to cages and the unfamiliar. He’s about 2 years old, and his world is just beginning to expand. Most things—sounds, smells, even routine daily life—are new and overwhelming for Sherman. His background makes him a significant flight risk, so a super-secure, fenced yard is non-negotiable. Tracking down a frightened beagle is next to impossible. Placement is not first come, first served; it's about finding the right fit, not just a quick handoff. Sherman is looking for a home with no small kids (applicants with calm kids over 10 may be considered), an experienced, very patient owner, and ideally another confident, friendly dog to help him settle in. The adjustment will be slow: expect months of potty accidents, possible need for an indoor space, and a dog who's not quick to show affection. But, for someone willing to invest the time, it’s a chance to offer a gentle animal a real life—maybe the first real life he’s had. Watching Sherman discover a soft bed, a safe yard, or simple affection for the first time is powerful. If you want to do something meaningful and you meet all the requirements, he may be the project you’re looking for. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
