About Drako
Drako is a 4-year-old, 80-pound bundle of personality and love, often described as a 'giant lap dog' with energy to spare. Rescued just hours before euthanasia, he’s since embraced his second chance—showing remarkable loyalty and a tendency to bond deeply with people. He’s all about play and zoomies, so he thrives with an active family or someone who can offer structure and activity most days. When things settle down, Drako turns cuddly, eager for affection and known for handing out some truly impressive sloppy kisses. Drako has lived in a home before; that experience comes through in how he connects and trusts. He gets along well with most dogs (he’s best with those matching his energy or as a solo pet), does great with cats, and is comfortable around kids ages six and up due to his size and exuberance. He’s fully house trained, crate trained, and knows his way around a leash. Some of his adoption fee is already sponsored—a gift from his foster family. Drako is currently in Lemont, IL and visits are by appointment after your application is approved. Please apply only if you’re ready to welcome him within five days of adoption approval.
