About Sweet Pea
What are you waiting for? Apply today! Sweet Pea is a very special young dog who has overcome many challenges with her joyful spirit and zest for life. She arrived from Arkansas after her family surrendered her as a puppy, and it was discovered through x-rays that she has a spinal deformity, believed by her vet to be a genetic condition rather than the result of trauma. Sweet Pea is rear paralyzed and depends on her cart for mobility, but that doesn’t slow her down one bit—she’s an energetic and playful companion! She requires assistance with expressing her bladder several times a day, wears a diaper when not in her crate, and comes with her crate, wheelchair, and harness to help her feel comfortable and happy in her new home. This petite 35-pound girl is a delightful mix, with DNA testing showing her main breed as American Pit Bull Terrier and some shepherd influences from her mother. Sweet Pea loves everyone she meets, including other dogs, cats, kids, and people—she truly never meets a stranger. Adopted from a rescue that ensures all its dogs are spayed/neutered, current on vaccines, heartworm tested, and microchipped, Sweet Pea is looking for a qualified, loving home where she’ll be cherished and supported. To add an extra note of fun: Sweet Pea was born on April 8, making her an adventurous Aries—these dogs are known for their courage and boundless energy! If you think she might be the perfect fit for your family, all she asks is for a loving, supportive household willing to take on her special needs—and in return, you’ll find a loyal best friend who is ready to enjoy life by your side. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
