***HAS COMPLETED HEARTWORM TREATMENT Athena is an 8-year-old hound with the kind of presence that makes you notice her right away. At around 70 pounds, she carries herself like the quiet matriarch of the group — confident, steady, and very comfortable being in charge of her surroundings. Athena recently spent time in a foster home where she did wonderfully. She lived with another dog and settled in quickly, showing that she enjoys companionship while still maintaining her strong, independent personality. She has that classic hound mix of traits: social with people, affectionate when she wants attention, and just playful enough to keep things interesting. Athena isn’t shy about who she is — she’s a dog with personality and confidence. Earlier in life Athena lived outdoors on a chain, but she’s now learning just how nice indoor life can be. Soft beds, regular meals, and people nearby seem to suit her very well. Athena has successfully completed her heartworm treatment and is currently in the recovery phase, which means activity needs to remain calm and controlled for a little while longer… even if Athena herself might have other opinions about that. She’s a strong, engaging dog who will do best with people who appreciate a confident hound and enjoy a dog with a little bit of leadership in her personality. Athena has been spayed-microchipped-current on all vaccines and monthly preventatives-finished Heartworm treatment and has been dewormed. Athena will be available for adoption once fully vetted.
