About Harry
***Being treated for Lyme Disease Harry is a little over 4 years old and weighs about 52 pounds. This Hound mix came to the shelter as part of a group of hounds and was adopted in 2023 alongside his buddy Zach. While everyone hoped that would be his happily-ever-after, circumstances changed, and Harry returned to our care in October 2025 when the dogs on the property needed help and a fresh start. Harry is an active, expressive guy who is not shy about sharing his feelings — vocally and enthusiastically. True to his hound nature, he likes to let you know what’s on his mind, whether he’s excited, curious, or ready to get moving. He’s engaged with the world around him, enjoys being outside, and thrives when he has space to explore, sniff, and burn off energy. Despite his big personality, Harry is a people-friendly dog who enjoys interaction and attention. He benefits from structure and routine and will do best with an adopter who understands hounds and appreciates a dog who communicates clearly and confidently. With consistency and positive reinforcement, Harry has all the tools to continue learning and settling into home life. Harry has done well with other dogs, though meet-and-greets are required to ensure a good match. He previously lived with cats. An active home that enjoys walks, outdoor time, and a dog with opinions will be the best fit for him. Harry is neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested, fully vaccinated (including rabies), dewormed, on monthly preventatives, and is currently being treated for Lyme disease.
