Meet Nala Nala is a young Husky/German Shepherd mix (born in October) who recently came to us as an owner surrender from Cortez. With her striking looks and big personality, this girl is equal parts brains, energy, and affection. Nala is already off to a great start with training—she's kennel trained, pad trained, and knows a solid list of basic commands like sit, down, stay, come, drop it, and kennel. She's eager to learn and responds well to guidance, especially when you remind her of her manners (she may get a little excited with her greetings, but a quick “down” and she's happily wagging by your side). This girl has energy to spare and would thrive in a home with space to run, play, and explore. She'll need an active family committed to continuing her training—especially with leash work as she finishes up her last round of vaccines. Nala does use a slow feeder at mealtime because she gets a little too enthusiastic about her food. Socially, Nala has done well with other dogs and is currently living with cats in her foster home—and doing great! She's proving to be a well-rounded pup who just needs the right environment to shine.
