Rascal is a five-year-old Australian Shepherd/Husky mix, weighing about 30 lbs, who has fought through more than his share of health challenges. When he first arrived, he struggled to walk due to severe polyarthritis and suffered the long-term effects of unmanaged hypothyroidism. Now, after proper care, he's making slow but steady progress—able to enjoy short walks and always showing real grit and determination. His ongoing needs are real: Rascal will likely require continued treatment for arthritis and hypothyroidism, along with a lifelong special diet. He's recently had to be shaved (imagine a little lion cut), and it’s possible his coat won’t grow back fully—but his warm, expressive personality takes center stage. This guy is sweet, affectionate, and isn’t shy about asking for attention when he wants it. Rascal is not completely house trained at night but keeps his space tidy during the day if let out frequently. He’ll need an adopter committed to helping with lifting or carrying when his mobility is limited and supportive of his journey to greater independence.
