About Callie
Callie is a gentle soul who’s seen her share of hard days. She spent her life outside, often hungry, raising litter after litter without the comfort of a warm bed. When she arrived in rescue, Callie was underweight, her body marked by old scars, and her eyes showed years of sadness. She’s quickly discovered the joy of a soft place to sleep and the warmth of human kindness. In her foster home, Callie becomes deeply attached to those who treat her well—she’s the classic velcro dog, always ready for a cuddle and happy to soak up affection. She’s house trained, walks well on leash, and loves to please, though she’s still learning not to react to other dogs on walks. With ongoing training, she’s improving fast and wants someone who’ll keep supporting her. Callie should be the only dog in the home for now, though with careful introductions and patience, she might adjust to another calm companion. Cats are mostly a curiosity for her—she steers clear after a quick hiss, but may give chase if one runs. With kids, Callie has shown a gentle, loving side, especially with respectful children. Her preference is for people who are home most of the day, since she can get anxious when left alone for long stretches, but she settles in a crate if needed for a few hours. It’s clear Callie’s never had much comfort or security. Now she just needs a calm, devoted home to enjoy the easy, happy life she’s missed out on for so long. Ready to meet your new best friend?
