About Hail
Click apply and let the tail-wagging begin! Meet Hail, a black Lab mix estimated to be about 7.5 years old and full of pep and a constant wag in his tail each morning. Hail’s early life is a bit of a mystery, but he’s always gotten along great with other dogs and, while once fearful of people and unfamiliar with home life, has made wonderful progress since coming into foster care. He initially needed medication to cope with his anxieties, but after three months, he thrives without it—embracing everyday moments from morning walks and car rides to eagerly requesting snacks and hiding bones in his crate. Over time, Hail has gained both confidence and trust. He enjoys lounging on the couch with you, loves gentle pets—especially now that he’s grown more comfortable with touch—and is quite affectionate, often seeking out his person for nose or paw touches (though always on his own terms). Hail is food-motivated, which helps with ongoing progress, and would do anything for a treat. He is house trained, knows basic commands, and reliably goes to his crate on request. Hail is searching for a compassionate, patient family who will give him space to acclimate and continue his journey to confidence. He’s very adaptable—he is good with other dogs (currently living with two males and getting along well) and seems able to coexist with cats and small animals. Hail is best suited for a calm home, preferably with older children who respect a dog’s space, and should always have a safe retreat like a crate or quiet room if he is overwhelmed. Though he no longer needs daily medication, he may still require it for stressful events like nail trims, baths, or vet visits. This sweet, smart boy is available for meet and greets and just waiting for the right family to show him unconditional love and understanding. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
