**Please read Otto's entire profile, which includes a link to the adoption application at the end. Thank you!** Meet Otto, a 2-year-old Australian Shepherd, weighing 50 pounds (as of 4/22/26). This young boy was unfortunately surrendered to the shelter after his owner passed away. He's looking for a home that will love him fur-ever and ever. Otto is a super energetic boy who likes to be wherever you are. You might as well call him "shadow," because he'll stay close to keep you out of harm's way! The best part about Otto is that he rides really well in a car. He loves to stick his head out the window and let his tongue flap in the wind, so if you've got a road trip planned, he's ready to roll! Just don't forget to bring his favorite chewy toys like the bamboo rawhides. Otto plays well with other dogs (though he would be best in a home where he's a solo dog), has been exposed to cats and he LOVES kids, especially older kids 10 and up! If you ever need a babysitter for a night out, Otto is more than happy to keep your kids occupied with a dance party! Did we also mention he's a part-time DJ? Otto is fine with crating and will go to the front door and tell you he's got to potty. He'll need some help learning not to pull on his leash but that's only because he's just so excited about going on walks! He picks things up quickly and has learned commands like sit, heel, leave it, and down. He doesn't want to brag, but he's definitely a smarty pants. In fact, when he's not loving on his people, you can find Otto giving lectures at your local college. For free! What a guy! If he's around other dogs, he like to keep his food close, so no family-style meals please! Let's give Otto a second chance at a loving home! Adopt him today! All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be. To adopt or learn more about Otto, you must fill out an adoption application. To find the application, copy and paste this URL into your browser: WWW.GDRNE.COM/ADOPTION-APPLICATION [Adoption Fee: $495] ** PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works. Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted. To learn more about our *shelterless* rescue, adoption fees, and procedures, review the list of Frequently Asked Questions on our website at WWW.GDRNE.COM.
