Hi, I'm Clyde-a 71-pound Boxer and Terrier mix who's still figuring out the world around me. New people, places, and experiences can make me feel pretty unsure, so I tend to keep to myself at first. When we meet, you might notice that I spend my time quietly wandering or pacing, just taking everything in at my own pace. I'm not the kind of guy who will run right up for attention-in fact, I usually prefer to keep a little distance until I start to feel safe and comfortable. Underneath it all, though, I have a very sweet nature that's just waiting to shine through. What I really need is a calm, low-key home where I can relax and decompress without too much pressure. A busy or rambunctious environment would be overwhelming for me, so I'd do best with people who are patient and willing to let me open up on my own timeline. I would also prefer to be the only animal in the home. It may take a couple of visits for me to feel comfortable, and I'd like to meet everyone in the household before going home, just so I know I'm safe. With time, understanding, and gentle support, I know I can grow into a loyal companion-I just need someone willing to go slow with me and give me the chance to truly blossom. My adoption fee of $225+tax covers the cost of my care and stay here at the humane society. All Pennington County residents must also pay an additional $8 licensing fee at time of adoption.
