Everyone please met Rover! Rover is a 3-year-old Anatolian/Pyrenees mix weighing about 85 pounds. So let’s get a few things out of the way: Yes, he’s gorgeous. Yes, he’s fantastic with kids of all ages. Yes, he’s dog and cat friendly. Yes…he is basically perfect. BUT even perfection comes with a little personality, and Rover is no exception. For this big, fluffy lovebug, his separation anxiety is very real. He knows what he wants, and what he wants is a dog friend and his human bestie to never leave him behind. Honestly? Same, Rover. I also hate leaving my dog. Rover’s future home will need to be ready to work with and manage his separation anxiety. He cannot be crated (he will get out no matter what, and we don’t want him getting hurt). He can handle being alone for a couple of hours, but fair warning: he is a world-class counter surfer and a proud garbage enthusiast. So his people will need to keep counters clear and trash securely locked away. Life with Rover is all about give and take. He’s going to give you a lifetime of loyalty, love, and friendship… and in return, he’s going to ask for lots of reassurance and companionship. Something in Rover’s past has made being alone feel scary, and it seems to trigger some big emotions for him. But aside from that one challenge, he is truly a dream dog—and you won’t regret falling for him. Because you will fall for him. The second you meet him, he’ll have you wrapped around his paw, and you’ll probably find yourself not wanting to leave him anyway. Rover requires a dog friend and a fenced yard. He’d also love a doggy door (because why not live your best life?), but he can absolutely manage without one. He is currently located in TN and has been moved around quite a bit due to his special needs, so we are really hoping his next home is his forever one. If you’re interested in this incredible boy, please make sure you’re ready to support him through his one little “extra” quirk.
