Zippy was found as an abandoned puppy on a property in California when homeless owners moved away. We also rescued his mom and littermates. He was the friendliest puppy in the bunch, greeting us with tail wags and kisses. This boy is stunning with his light brindle coat! - Approximately 5 months old and 18.5 pounds as of 4/7/26. We believe Zippy will likely be between 20-23 pounds full grown but we cannot guarantee size at maturity. - Small breed mix, possibly Chihuahua/Australian Shepherd. If you do a DNA test on this cutie, the rescue would love to see the results! - Playful and curious with other dogs. Fostered with two medium sized female dogs and he loves to engage them in play even though they are bigger than him. - Super snuggly and will fall asleep in your lap. - Fostered with a cat and is polite and respectful towards kitty. - Loves people and really wants to be close to his humans. - Fostered with kids age 7 years old and up and he loves interacting and cuddling with them. We think Zippy could do well with gentle kids. - Working hard on crate and potty training. So far no potty accidents in foster. - Learning to walk on leash but isn't quite there yet so that's a skill his adopter will need to continue working with him on. - Loves toys and chasing after a ball. Sometimes will even bring the ball back. We are seeking a patient, committed puppy adopter willing to invest the time and training into raising their new best friend. Puppies are a labor of love and you will lose sleep initially while they learn potty training and your routine. Zippy has had one of two puppy vaccines, rabies and Bordetella vaccines, is microchipped, dewormed, and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. His adoption fee includes his neuter surgery between 7-12 months of age at one of our partner veterinary clinics in Milwaukie or SW Portland.
