About Georgia
Georgia spent her earlier life as an outdoor dog in a reservation setting and learned to be independent, rarely relying on people. Since moving indoors with her foster family, she has made real progress and is looking for a family to call her own. Georgia is a four-year-old female yellow lab mix on the smaller end for her breed at about 40 pounds. She’s housebroken and does fine in a crate for 4-6 hours, though she’d struggle with longer periods alone—she’s best suited for a home where her person is around much of the time. Georgia isn’t a barker, but sometimes cries a little when kenneled. She enjoys chewing on rawhides and is learning the ropes with dog toys. Georgia prefers the company of her person; she keeps an eye on them at the dog park, but mostly runs alone and doesn’t pay much attention to other dogs. She’s been very respectful of the resident cat. She doesn’t have a lot of experience with children, so her comfort level there is uncertain. At home, she’ll sit for attention and happily give her paw, showing her affectionate side. Georgia loves both men and women and gets excited to see people she knows but isn’t quick to warm up to visitors. She’s anxious in the car but rides fine without getting sick. Since Georgia has plenty of energy, she’d thrive with someone active who could give her daily exercise—ideally with a fenced yard and regular trips to the park. She’s spayed and up to date on all her vaccinations, so she’s ready for her next step. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
