Bug is one of three dogs who were abandoned on our property in the middle of the night. Because of that rough transition to this portion of his life, he is scared of most things and timid around most people. We are slowly getting to see his true personality. He does best when he can go as slow as he chooses and nothing is rushed. His safe space right now is his room and if things are rushed, he rushes back in. He is now comfortable walking to our play yard and loves to hang out with his mom Ruby (who is also available for adoption!) but still has a hard time if he is alone. Please allow us to give Bug time to learn and adjust at the pace he is comfortable with, more info coming soon. UPDATE: Bug has made a few new human friends but is a slow process. He is getting to know most of our staff and a few of our volunteers but he is still pretty shy around them. Anyone that is interested in adopting may have to come for a few visits in order to create a friendship before taking him home. He is ready to meet new doggy friends, we've noticed he really enjoys the company of a lady pup but has successfully played with a male as well! Baby bug needs a home willing to give him all the time he needs with no rushed experiences. He is a very sweet boy who really does deserve the world. Just one look into his soulful eyes is all it take, he a heart breaker for sure. Come down and give our Chunk Butt a try, we promise you'll love him too. UPDATE #2: Bug has made huge leaps! He is still nervous and a bit shy around strangers but he is very curious and tries his best to be brave. He does not shy away (as long as you remain calm and approachable) like he used to, he walks up to get some sniffs in. He loves treats so you will get bonus points if you have a snack for him. Bug has been introduced to a harness and has been on a few successful walks with staff. He is not quite ready for long adventures but we are getting closer every day! He does best if he goes on walks with his mom Ruby and can go for a tad bit longer without getting spooked by the environment.
