About Opie
Click apply to start the adoption process. Introducing Opie! This 2-year-old (born July 16, 2023) Boxer/Pit Bull mix stands out in his black and white tuxedo-like coat, complete with a charming white-tipped tail. He is a large, handsome boy weighing in at a solid 64 pounds. Opie thrives on human interaction—people are truly his passion! He is incredibly sweet, mellow, and goofy, with a gentle mouth when taking treats. You'll find that he loves cuddling and is a quiet, tidy housemate who enjoys playtime, going for walks, car rides, and especially a rousing game of keep-away fetch in the yard. Opie would be best suited for an active family that has previous experience with large dogs. He’s very smart, eager to please, and learns quickly. Children in the home should be 10 years old or older, as Opie’s enthusiasm and size may be a bit much for younger kids. While he is dog social with proper introductions (and prefers playmates his own size who are on the submissive side), he is not a match for homes with small dogs, cats, or other small animals due to his strong prey drive. A securely fenced yard is required to keep this athletic boy safe and happy. Opie comes to you up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped. If you think your home is the perfect fit, please send an email to Adopt-A-Pet or submit an application, and a volunteer will be in touch as soon as possible. Please note, applications are reviewed carefully, and you will be contacted within 72 hours if your household meets Opie’s needs. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
