About Fawn
Fawn didn’t come into this world with a soft landing. On one of the busiest days at the shelter, when phones were ringing and the lobby was full, four tiny puppies were quietly left behind on the floor—no words, no explanation, just… gone. By the time anyone realized what had happened, the person who brought them in had disappeared. And just like that, Fawn, her sister, and her two brothers were alone. They were so small. Too small. Their little bodies were thin, fragile, and tired, like they had already seen too much of the world for puppies their age. And in a shelter already stretched thin, there was no open space waiting for them, no foster lined up—just uncertainty. But even in that chaos, they were not invisible. They were wrapped in blankets, given full bellies, gentle hands, and something they may have never truly known before—care. Day by day, meal by meal, those tiny, scared puppies began to change. Their ribs disappeared, their eyes softened, and their tails—once tucked in fear—started to wag. Fawn was one of the quiet ones at first. She watched everything, unsure, learning that not every hand would leave her behind. And when she finally trusted, even just a little, it was the kind of trust that felt like a gift. When they were finally strong enough, their story was shared, in hopes that someone—anyone—might recognize them. But instead of answers, something unexpected happened… people fell in love. Applications poured in, hearts opened, and slowly but surely, her siblings each found their way into loving homes. One by one, they left. And now, Fawn waits. She’s no longer the tiny, fragile puppy who was abandoned on a lobby floor. She’s grown, she’s healed, and she’s learned how to love. But when the day quiets down and the others have gone home, she’s still there… wondering when it will be her turn. Fawn has already overcome more than most dogs ever should. All she’s missing now is someone who will choose her—not for a moment, but for a lifetime. She didn’t get the beginning she deserved. But she’s still hoping for the ending she does.
