Periwinkle entered Inland Valley Humane Society & S.P.C.A. as a stray, and sadly, she wasn't claimed. We welcomed her as a Frosted Face on April 4th. Periwinkle is estimated to be 10 years old and weighs 10 lbs. Every ounce of her is pure sweetness! On an outing with volunteers, Periwinkle was the perfect companion on a trip to the park and a coffee shop. She was well-behaved, friendly, and snuggly. Periwinkle is currently on a two-week Frosted Fling, so we can learn more about her in a home setting while she recovers from surgery to remove mammary masses. Her foster mom shared this positive update: "What a sweetheart! Periwinkle is recovering from surgery and doing well. She loves to cuddle, sleeps in a crate, has never barked. Her sight is limited, but she has no problem getting around the house and is very independent. Here is what else I've learned about Periwinkle: * Potty trained. * Sleeps through the night. * Has no problem with my two senior dogs. * Doesn't exhibit any separation anxiety. * She is very quiet. Never barks. * Not a big eater. This might change after she gets her dental. * Loves to lay in the sun. Periwinkle is a low-maintenance dog. If I lift her up on the couch next to me when I'm watching TV, she loves to cuddle. She also loves to lay in my lap when I'm on the computer. Periwinkle isn't too fond of walking on a leash. She puts the brakes on and makes it clear that she wants to go home. Periwinkle would probably do best in a home with no children because she doesn't play. She would prefer to lay in her bed. As Periwinkle continues to recover from surgery, I think she will become more active. She is easy-going and mellow. A little gem." Check back soon for the full report from Periwinkle's foster home!
