We will make every attempt to process all applications within 3 business days of receipt. // // Say hello to Cora, a beautiful 1 year old white lab mix with a suspiciously long body and stubby legs that lead us to believe there may be some dachshund in her DNA. Cora was a little cautious and nervous at first when she came to her foster home, but that eased after a couple of days. She’s now completely integrated into her foster parent’s resident pack and doing great. She was crated the first night and did fine, but since then she’s been allowed to sleep outside the crate with no problems. She’s allowed to sleep wherever she wants to and has had no potty accidents. She’s very smart, learned the dog door is for going outside to potty, and figured that out the very first day. Her ideal forever home would be one that includes at least one other playful dog who's a little laid back and doesn't mind letting Cora be assertive. She vacillates between lazy dog on the couch to playfully racing around the yard to get her energy out and likes to surround herself with toys, any kind of toys, she's all about gathering toys. If left alone unsupervised she could get into mischief, so having a buddy dog would be helpful in building confidence and showing her the ropes. She can be a little sneaky with shoes and socks, taking them outside into the yard. She can jump high, so no short fences - 6' minimum for this gal. Her foster parents feel she’d benefit from training classes to work on leash training and ‘recall’, and she wouldn’t be a good dog beach or off leash dog until then, but once she gets that down and bonds with her forever family she’ll be fine. But her new family will definitely need to be careful with doors and gates because she's a quick one. She'll come with a MARTINGALE collar which is to be used for leashed walks - no exceptions. We'll show you what it's for and how to properly use it. Cora will make a fabulous family dog with older, respectful children. She has not been around small children to our knowledge. She's probably chase cats, so just be aware of that. She takes treats easily, which will make training her a breeze and has a good, healthy appetite. Cora is up to date on her vaccinations, is spayed, and is microchipped. Her adoption fee is $300 All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption. Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog.
