About Elmer
FIRST STEPS: Please visit https://www.save-a-mutt.org/adoption-application/ to fill out an application - a Petfinder Inquiry is not the adoption process. We don't do meet and greets until applications have been approved. All our dogs are located IN Washington State. We are a local foster home based rescue. Elmer is a tender hearted guy who is dreaming of a home where he will be a cherished family member. He enjoys his walks and is learning how to be a good boy on the leash. Elmer loves to get warm and cozy on top of or underneath a pile of blankets. He is especially happy if his people are right there beside him. Elmer's perfect home will be calm and quiet. Elmer is being happily fostered with another dog and would enjoy a canine companion. We don't know if he has any experience with cats, therefore, any kitties in the home should have a safe place to observe this little man while he adapts to his new surroundings. Because young children can be quick and unpredictable we are asking for a home without children under 10 years of age. Elmer does not like to go outside in the rain and will use potty pads if given the choice. His adopter should be willing to continue with him on a predictable potty routine that has been established in his foster home. Elmer recently received a Senior Wellness Exam with bloodwork. He was treated for itchy skin and an ear infection and both have been resolved. He will benefit from regular baths to keep his sensitive skin clean from things that might irritate him. Elmer is neutered, microchipped and up to date on his vaccines. He is 6 years old and weighs 10 pounds. Please note, we have approximately a 200 mile adoption radius from Stanwood WA for our Senior Dogs. Save-A-Mutt may limit this distance based on the long term needs of this pet. We don’t adopt out of state except to the Vancouver BC area. We don’t ship dogs. Once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA. Canadian adopters must be able to come to Stanwood WA to pick up their dog.
