About Bill Nye
Bill Nye A183537 62 lb. neutered male, approx 3 years old -This handsome "science guy" is just a little timid, and a lot of things still seem pretty new to him. He likely hasn't had much experience with affection, but once I started petting him, he leaned in and rubbed all over me in that slightly awkward, figuring-it-out kind of way. It's actually pretty endearing--he wants the attention, he just isn't totally sure what to do with it yet. -He enjoys treats and takes them gently (and can even catch them mid-air). I got a couple sits out of him, though he doesn't quite understand what's being asked yet. He showed some curiosity about toys and the squeaker but didn't really know how to play with them. -He never fully settled enough to lay down, but after a little time he did come sit on my legs and clearly enjoyed being close. As he warmed up, he started offering a few kisses--and even gave a little nose nibble. -He walks fairly well on leash, just likes to stop and sniff along the way. Overall, he's a sweet, slightly unsure guy who seems like he just needs a little time and consistency to build his confidence. -Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids *Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt *Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment. *Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in. *There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption. *To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering. **And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.** *The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-5:30 **1431 E Ferry St. Detroit
