Gianni and his friend Donatella showed up one day, trailing behind a volunteer who was out walking her dogs. Both decided to stick with their rescuers all the way home, eager for help after spending time on the streets. When Gianni arrived, he was a mess of mats and dirt—clearly, he'd been outside for some time.
