Animal Information: Bonnie is a 10-month-old, 50-pound shepherd mix with a story that started in a tough place but is headed toward a much brighter future. Her and her brother, Clyde, were found roaming together in a known dumping ground in California, abandoned and left to fend for themselves. Thankfully, a Good Samaritan stepped in and brought them to safety, sparing them from entering an already overcrowded municipal shelter that was euthanizing for space. Despite their rough start, Bonnie and Clyde have proven to be incredibly resilient. Both dogs are friendly, social, and affectionate with people, and they get along well with other dogs too. They’re playful, curious, and enjoy being around their humans, exactly what you’d expect from young shepherd mixes with lots of love to give. Foster Profile: Bonnie is a sweet affectionate little girl. She loves pets and snuggles and loves her people. She is house-trained and crate-trained, although she can be a bit barky during transition periods. She sleeps through the night and rides great in the car. She is gaining confidence in new situations but will need an adopter willing to continue her training. She is currently cohabitating with a 2.5 year old human; she is not overly interested in him and tends to give him space. She does not seem to have much prey drive so could be a possible candidate for a home with cats (she currently has not been cat tested, but can be upon request). She does well with other low key dogs. She has really nice house manners, isn't a chewer and generally just wants to lay by your feet or in a dog bed.
