With hesitant curiosity, but as soon as he knows it’s safe he jumps right in 🐕 Social & Home Life ● How are they with people (adults/kids/new people)?: Loves his people! He approaches new people gently, but after a pet or a treat they are his new best friend. He’s been with kids in the elevator and said hi to them on the sidewalk. ● How are they with other dogs?: Friendly, says hi but doesn’t want (know how) to play. He can be a little grumbly if they get too up in his personal space, but I think he would do well with a sibling. ● Cats or other animals (if known)?: Unknown ● Behavior when left alone or when guests visit: Excited when guests come, unsure if left alone 🎓 Training & Manners ● Potty trained?: Yes, some marking but responds well to correction ● Crate trained?: Yes ● Leash skills: Quickly improving! He goes for walks well, just needs to be kept close so he doesn’t veer. ● Commands known (if any): Come and Sit (still working on perfecting them, but he knows it!) 🌞 Daily Life ● Typical day with you: Walks in the morning and afternoon, playing fetch with a small toy, napping in a bed by one of our desks while we work. ● Exercise needs: 1-2 short walks a day ● Favorite activities or toys: Likes chasing soft toys 🌱 Growth Areas ● Anything they’re still working on?: Leash skills - he is still learning to walk at a regular cadence without stopping or pulling, but is a quick learner and wants to do a good job! ● What helps them succeed?: Clear direction, lots of positive reinforcement, attention and pets. He wants to know that you are happy with him! 🏡 Ideal Home ● Only dog / With dog / Either: Either ● Good fit for apartment living?: Yes! ● Best type of household (active, moderate, calm): Any - I think as long as his people love him he will be happy ● What kind of adopter would be the best match?: Someone who wants a dog to just adore the ground they walk on. 💙 Foster Note Pete is such a love bug and a VERY good boy! He just wants to be by your side on the couch or sniffing new smells outside. He is deceptively athletic, and will jump when he gets excited! He’s sweet, playful, and a happy healthy boy. He settled into his foster home quickly, found his spots where he is happiest and clearly knows how to be loved in a home. His leash skills are quickly improving, and he loves going for walks. He loves to cuddle and be carried around, and is happiest when he’s around his people. He is friendly with other dogs, and we suspect he’d be good with cats and children too. He sleeps well in his crate and comes to your side when called. He’s such a good boy who deserves a great, loving home! INTERESTED IN ADOPTING?
