About Georgia
STATS: dob: september 2024 weight: 49 lbs breed/s: shephard mix? energy level: medium dog/kid/cat friendly: dog and kis friendly! adoption fee: $400 Meet Georgia 💛 Georgia is a young, healthy, happy girl with the softest coat and the sweetest spirit. She was born around September 2024 and has been spreading joy ever since. I found Georgia as a tiny stray puppy in New Mexico in November 2024 — literally standing in the middle of the road. I almost ran over her. Of course, I scooped her up and brought her home. She has been a bright, loving presence in our family ever since. Health: Spayed in January Heartworm negative on her most recent test On consistent heartworm prevention since puppyhood No known health issues She is healthy, strong, and ready for her next chapter. Personality: Georgia is friendly, sweet, and playful. She has never met a stranger. Whether she’s with us, my parents, or a dog sitter, she is consistently cheerful and well-spirited. She adapts easily and brings her happy energy wherever she goes. She does have a slightly confident, more dominant personality — but in a balanced, social way. Social Skills: Great with our dogs Great with my parents’ dogs Has done well with friends’ dogs She genuinely enjoys other dogs and plays appropriately. Kids & Other Animals: The neighborhood kids adore her — and she adores them right back. She approaches with a wagging tail and often rolls over for belly rubs. She has never shown aggression. She wouldn’t make much of a guard dog — she’s far more likely to lick the Amazon delivery person than scare them off. 😊 She has shown a mild tendency to chase and gently nip at the heels of our goats. She has never done this with humans. It’s a light instinctual behavior, not intense or obsessive like true herding breeds. Cats: Georgia may not be the best fit for a home with cats. While she was okay when supervised, she did show a tendency to chase my parents’ cat when she stayed with them. Because of that, a cat-free home (or a very experienced owner willing to manage introductions carefully) would likely be best. Activity Level & Ideal Home: Georgia is an active, athletic young dog who needs regular exercise and stimulation. She thrives with daily walks She loves running off-leash a few times a week A large yard alone is not enough — she enjoys exploring and getting out She does best with companionship and would not do well left alone for long stretches She has been fine when left with another dog companion and a good chew toy. She isn’t crate trained yet, but she’s smart and I believe she could learn quickly. The Right Fit: Georgia would do best in a home that: Is active and enjoys walks or outdoor time Can provide consistent companionship Possibly has another friendly dog Ideally does not have cats She is a genuinely joyful, soft-hearted dog who deserves a home where she can continue to run, play, and be adored. If you’re looking for a loyal, playful, affectionate best friend, Georgia may be your girl.
