Meet Atlas, the show-stopping Husky/Shepherd mix with the bluest eyes you'll ever see!! At around 6 years old & 67 lbs, Atlas is the perfect mix of goofy, loyal, and sweet. He's healthy, neutered, and heartworm negative - ready to start his next chapter with a family who truly gets him. Atlas's story is a special one. In 2021, he was pulled from a rural kill shelter where he was on the euthanasia list just for space, because his previous owner passed away and he had no where else to safely land in. We got him into rescue, and the lifesaving care he needed, including successful heartworm treatment, and celebrated when he found a home. Unfortunately, Atlas's family has now realized that he would do best in a home without young kids, so we are helping him find his forever home this time. Atlas is incredibly dog-friendly & loves having canine pals (used to be best friends with a Great Dane pup at home), but he does need a home without cats and without young children. He's already completed a 4-week professional training program, where he learned leash manners, in-home commands, and how to politely interact with other dogs. With consistency & the right cues, he retains his training beautifully - and we'll pass along all of his commands to set his new family up for success. What makes Atlas so special (besides those gorgeous piercing ice-blue eyes)? His goofy personality. He's the kind of dog that will make you laugh with his silly antics, then melt your heart when he leans in for love. He's fully house-trained, sensitive, smart, and happiest when he's part of the pack. He also loves going on car rides, walks, and adventures. The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet.
