About Richard
Richard is a 1-year-old German Shepherd/Hound mix in New Orleans, LA, about 60 pounds, full of loyalty, energy, and affection. Like many big-hearted dogs, he started life rough as a stray until a rescue stepped in just in time. Now safe, his true personality shows: extra-friendly, attached to his person, and eager to please. He thrives on human company and shadows his people with classic Velcro-dog devotion. Richard still has some of that clumsy puppy joy. He loves play, fetch, and toys but settles nicely. He’s crate-trained and walks cooperatively on leash. House training is a work in progress—he tries hard, but apartment life is new for him, and a yard would be a bonus. Richard is dog-friendly and, while he gets along with cats, he’d rather not interact with them. Neutered, current on vaccines, and heartworm negative, he’s ready for a steady, patient home to guide him. Someone willing to set routines and show patience will find in Richard a loyal sidekick who offers endless warmth and gratitude each day. He’s looking forward to making the most out of his second chance. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
