About Dove
I’m still learning how to fly. For a while, my world was small—more like a cage than the open sky. I didn’t get to meet many people, and I didn’t learn all the things puppies usually do. But now, at 8 months old and 35 pounds, I’m stretching my wings a little more every day. They call me Dove, and it fits. I may not soar right up to strangers right away—I like to circle a bit first, watching, making sure it’s safe—but once I land, I’m all yours. Loyal, loving, and ready to stay close. I already know some pretty important things, like “sit” and “kennel,” and I’m working hard on house, crate, and leash training. I’m mostly housebroken, I just sometimes have an accident if I drink a lot of water and don’t get outside in time, or if I’m in my kennel too long—but I try to tell you with a little whine first. I’m smart (really smart!), and I’m learning fast. With a little patience, I know I’ll get it all down. One thing you should know about me: I LOVE other dogs. Like, really love them. I’m happiest with a furry friend by my side, running, tumbling, and zooming around. After I get all that energy out—especially my morning zoomies—I’m a champion cuddler. I’m also pretty funny, if I do say so myself. I’ve got a playful spirit and a goofy side that comes out once I feel comfortable. Older kids are great—I just get a little enthusiastic sometimes, so I might accidentally knock over the really little ones. What I need is a home where I can keep growing—somewhere with a fenced yard to run in, or an apartment where we go on daily adventures together. Most of all, I need someone who sees not just who I am, but who I’m becoming. Because I’m not just a dog—I’m a dove learning to spread his wings. **As a reminder, puppies will need lots of time and attention during the first year. Before adopting me, please make sure that you have enough time, energy and commitment to devote to my training. Puppies need a lot of care, so everyone in your household should be on board and ready to help out** My adoption fee is $150 and includes my spay/neuter, vaccinations, wellness exam, heartworm test, and microchip!
