About Kiwi
Kiwi is a 1-year-old, medium-sized Border Collie and Labrador mix with striking black fur and a calm, easygoing nature. She’s both house and crate trained, walks nicely on a leash, and appreciates having another dog around for companionship and confidence. Kiwi came from a difficult background with over 60 other dogs, so sudden noises and new situations can make her nervous, and she’ll do best in a stable home without children. She prefers to eat separately at first to feel safe. Her ideal family has patience, consistency, and a laidback vibe—plus a fenced yard where Kiwi can explore at her own pace. She’s clever and willing to learn, showing lots of potential for growth as she settles in. Kiwi is playful but loves to curl up for snuggles, and once she feels secure, she’s all heart. Born on Valentine’s Day, she truly knows how to give affection. Kiwi will thrive in a home that understands rescue dogs and is ready to give her the quiet support she needs. Questions about Kiwi
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Kiwi’s mix of Border Collie and Labrador traits does best in a home where there’s both room to move and people around who can offer companionship and structure. These breeds thrive with an attentive family who can include them in daily life.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
A securely fenced yard is ideal for Kiwi, giving her room to play, explore, and burn off energy. While frequent walks are great, having her own space will be especially helpful as she continues to settle and decompress.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Kiwi’s background and current temperament suggest she is best in a no-kids home since sudden noise or activity can overwhelm her. Many Border Collie/Lab mixes can do well with older, calm children, but Kiwi is more comfortable with adults only.
