About Kiwi
New year, new opportunities—and I’m ready to turn the page on my past and step into a future where I can truly shine. I’m Kiwi, a 10 month old, 30 pound Border Collie/Labrador mix with a one-of-a-kind look and an even bigger personality. I’ve got a partial mohawk on the back of my head that turns into a zigzag down my back. I’m housebroken and working hard on crate and leash training. I’m also learning “sit,” though I may try to negotiate the terms—I am very smart and I know it. I get along well with other dogs, but I can be a little bossy and pushy, especially when food or treats are involved. I take snacks very seriously and need to be fed separately. I came from a challenging start as one of 60 hoarding dogs, so some things still scare me—especially unexpected noises. Because of that, I need a strong, patient, laidback family with a fenced yard who’s willing to help me build confidence and feel safe in the world. With the right guidance, I’m eager to learn and grow. While I can be energetic and playful, I also have a sweet side. I love to snuggle, and my favorite place to relax is right in your lap. Once I trust you, I’m all in—heart, paws, and personality. This new year, I’m looking for more than just a home. I’m looking for my forever people—ones who see my potential, embrace my quirks, and are ready to help me become the confident, happy dog I know I can be. My adoption fee is $150 and includes my spay/neuter, vaccinations, wellness exam, heartworm test, and microchip! If you're interested in meeting/adopting me, please visit www.rescueonespringfield.com/our-adoption-process/adoption-application/ and fill out the form!
