About Biscuit
Click apply to start the adoption process. Biscuit is a small, 4 to 5-year-old chihuahua/terrier mix who arrived at the rescue with her housemate Daisy after their owner passed away. While it would be wonderful for Biscuit and Daisy to be adopted together, it is not required—they are both looking for loving homes where they can thrive. Biscuit has come a long way since arriving at the shelter, overcoming her initial shyness and now being fully vetted and ready for adoption. She needs a somewhat quiet, adults-only home (teens are fine) with a securely fenced yard, as her leash skills are still a work in progress. This patient environment will help Biscuit feel safe as she transitions into her new life. She blossoms into a fun, affectionate companion once she feels secure, showing her playful side. Biscuit has lived with small dogs before but can be fearful around larger dogs and is not suitable for homes with cats. A calm and reassuring adopter willing to provide basic training and understanding will be the key to her success. Please note that all adoptions are completed by private appointment for approved applicants who meet the rescue’s requirements. The organization is located at 101 22nd St. SE, Austin, MN, and adopters must be at least 21, with resident dogs current on vaccinations and spayed or neutered. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.

Chihuahua/terrier mixes often do well in small homes or apartments, provided they get enough attention and exercise. They thrive in a calm, secure atmosphere with attentive family members.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
This mix benefits from a secure outdoor space, such as a small fenced yard, for playing and exploring, but they can adjust to walks in the neighborhood if closely supervised.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Chihuahua/terrier mixes may do best with older children or teens who understand how to interact gently with small, sometimes shy dogs. Supervision is always advised with younger children.
