Meet Blinky! This sweet senior Shih Tzu has had a rough few weeks but is finally healed and ready for a forever home! He came to us with an icky infected painfully ruptured eye (probably from an ulcer from longterm untreated dry eye) that had to be removed but has recovered from surgery. He’s a very friendly little guy, good with other gentle dogs, and a cuddly companion. We think he’s about 8-10 years old- he has a lot of old man health issues but really nice teeth, so he’s hard to figure out an exact age on. He has a heart murmur and some early kidney disease that he takes medication for longterm as well as low protein diet. He has a lot of scarring from untreated dry eye in his remaining eye so doesn’t have the best vision, and is on prescription eye drops longterm so he can hopefully hang onto this eye 👁️ But he navigates well once in a routine and is happy tail-wagging little man. We are a small all-volunteer organization focused on rescuing local dogs from area shelters, as well as accepting some surrenders and puppy mill rescues.
