This small, male Maltese/peke/Shih Tzu mix is young and sports a long white and cream coat. He is not currently house trained but has been neutered and is up to date on vaccinations. Yo-Yo is seeking a home through Second Chance Pet Adoption League, where he can continue his journey toward trust and relaxation with the right family.

About Yoyo

Make their next chapter their best one yet. Yo-Yo has started to relax after a challenging transition, having previously endured long hours alone and little attention before coming to the rescue. This quirky 3-year-old Maltese/peke/Shih Tzu mix had a cherry eye and severely matted fur when surrendered, and he arrived frightened and unaccustomed to much handling. Leashes are a particular fear for him; just the sight of one sends him into a panic, and he may try to bite in his distress. Without a leash, however, Yo-Yo enjoys being picked up and delights in seeking attention, dancing around with his unique charm. After a successful cherry eye repair, Yo-Yo has moved past his stressful recovery but still isnโ€™t a fan of being fussed over, especially when it comes to grooming. To ensure his comfort, he may need medication to help him relax for future grooming sessions. His coat, while long, is not entirely nonshedding, reducing the grooming frequency a bit. At under 15 pounds, he is an ideal companion for someone seeking a smaller dog. Yo-Yo enjoys the company of other dogs and confidently follows them in and out of the fenced yardโ€”a must for him, given his aversion to leashes. He would thrive in an adult home experienced with independent little dogs, offering love on his terms in a calm environment. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
