These 29 dogs were rescued by Big Dog Ranch from another rescue in North Alabama after the owner was hospitalized, leaving the dogs in urgent need of help. When our team arrived and saw the conditions they were living in, we knew we had to act immediately. With a dedicated group of staff and volunteers, it took nearly seven hours to safely catch and secure each dog. Many were scared, yet incredibly sweet and innocent-confused about what was happening but never aggressive, just unsure and overwhelmed. Now, at Big Dog Ranch, they are finally safe. They are receiving much-needed medical care, nutritious meals, and plenty of love and patience. Some are learning how to walk on a leash for the very first time, while others are slowly learning to trust our K9 care staff-discovering that gentle pets, kind voices, and warm hugs can be a good thing. In time, these amazing dogs will be ready to begin the next chapter of their lives in forever homes, where they can give back the love and joy they have been waiting so long to share.
