About Cory

Cory is a handsome, medium-sized Chow Chow mix currently in foster care in Seattle, WA after being rescued from a crowded shelter. He spent some rough weeks on his own before ending up with animal control, but now he’s learning the ropes of family life. Cory is estimated to be between three and five years old, with a soft, short coat in a mix of black, chocolate brown, and cream. He can be a bit reserved with new people at first, but warms up and becomes affectionate once he feels safe. He truly shines when he gets to spend one-on-one time with his humans and enjoys playing in a securely fenced yard. Cory still needs to work on his training and would thrive with someone invested in helping him learn new skills. Cory is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. He isn’t fully housetrained yet, so patience and consistency will help. He arrived underweight but should fill out with proper care. Cory will need adopters in Western Washington or possibly Northern Oregon who have a secure, physical fence at least 4 feet high and a sturdy, safe crate (not wire or soft). Children should not be in the home given his unknown experience with them, and no apartments are permitted. His new family will be chosen based on their ability to meet his needs for safety and training. What are you waiting for? Apply today!

Questions about Cory

  • What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?

Cory, being a Chow Chow mix, typically fits best in a stable home with a securely fenced yard and an environment where he gets regular human interaction. Apartments aren't ideal for him; he really benefits from access to private outdoor space in a quieter neighborhood.

  • How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?

Chow Chow mixes like Cory do best with a medium to large, securely fenced yard where they can play and stretch out. Regular walks and a safe outdoor area are important for his well-being.

  • Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?

Cory is a Chow mix and, like many Chow Chows, may be reserved around children and needs dog-savvy kids if any. For Cory specifically, he'd do best in an adult-only home due to uncertainty with children.
