About Bolt

Bolt arrived from another shelter with another kitty who socialized before he did and she was adopted out without him. We normally keep cats together, but Bolt had "fallen in love" with a new classmate who was lovely and he no longer seemed bonded to his first friend. Bolt would camp outside the pretty new kitty's tent nightly. After his first girlfriend was adopted, he seemed a bit sad but still had his newest crush. Weeks passed, horribly, that kitty died of heart disease and Bolt was crushed. What helped him out was having his 2 other class mates Finley, (clown kitten) and Chloe (Finley's mother) distract him from being alone. No one, not even a heartbroken stubborn, semi feral x-tom cat can stay depressed when you have a silly friend forever at your side sneaking your treats and pushing you out of the sunshine on the window ledge. Since loosing his first 2 girlfriends, Scaredy Cat School brought in 2 more female classmates. He again was crushed when they got adopted. He becomes grumpy, unsettled and takes it out on us by refusing to engage and pouting and swatting at us when we offer him a treat when he's in a bad mood. We've known this boy Bolt for more than a year and we love him so much. He now watches over Finley and Bolt. They are all a family. We know he MUST be adopted with Finley and Chloe or he will be very lost in grief. Bolt is a very sensitive cat who is loyal and likes female cats to watch over. He is so unsure of people, but his 20 teachers at Scaredy Cat School have all learned that inside him is a real teddy bear of a cat that is just stubborn. We have celebrated lately that Bolt now allows us to touch him with the back scratcher and he actually seems to enjoy it. Some of us have even had the good fortune of petting his back. Bolt is so handsome. He's so worthy of the best of the best. We know he will become a total lover boy once he and Finley and Chloe are adopted into the same loving home. Bolt is a game player. When we are with him he acts reclusive, and the minute the door closes he is out with Chloe and Finley acting like he's a totally different cat..very outgoing, very playful, very confident. We get the biggest kick out of him! We consider Bolt as a special needs cat because he will need an adopter that is cat savvy and patient and has a great sense of humor to work with this wonderful stubborn fellow and enable him to become the teddy bear we know he is deep inside!
