Hi, I’m Dax! I’m a sweet, 6 year old, 12 pound mini Schnauzer boy who recently came into rescue after my previous family had to move and sadly couldn’t take all of their animals with them. Because there were so many pets in the home, I didn’t get a lot of one-on-one attention, so I’m still learning some of the manners and structure that Schnauzers usually thrive with. The good news is that I’m a smart boy and eager to learn—I just need someone willing to spend a little time helping me become my best self. When I first arrived at the clinic that helped get me to rescue, everyone immediately noticed what a sweetheart I am. While the staff were getting my kennel set up and preparing my bedding and vetting, I was calm, gentle, and happy to be around them. During my vet visit I showed off a little of that classic Schnauzer energy, but the team still described me as an incredibly sweet boy who was wonderful to work with. I enjoy being around people and have done really well with the kennel staff who have been caring for me. With a little guidance, attention, and some consistent training, I’m going to make a fantastic companion. Like many Schnauzers, I’m smart, affectionate, and happiest when I get to spend time with my people. I will come to my forever home neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines and preventatives. What I’m really hoping for is a family who will give me the attention, love, and guidance I’ve been missing—because I’m ready to return that love tenfold.
