About Flint
Hi, I’m Flint, and not too long ago a Facebook post and called me “the saddest boy in the shelter.” I was so scared there that I would hide in the back of my crate and try to disappear. People would walk past me because they couldn’t really see who I was back there. Thankfully, someone saw that post and decided I deserved a chance, so I was pulled from the high-kill shelter down south and brought into rescue. I’m a two-year-old, 40lb Boxer mix. Once I got to my foster home and realized I was safe, something pretty amazing started to happen—I began to blossom. I’m still a sensitive guy who likes a calm, quiet environment, but every day I get a little braver. My foster family has helped me learn that it’s okay to move around the house, explore different rooms, and relax. I absolutely love to cuddle and will happily sit with you for as long as you’ll let me. I don’t like yelling or chaos, but gentle voices, patience, and kindness make me feel right at home. I’ve also discovered that I enjoy being outside, especially when there are interesting smells to follow—my nose is usually to the ground, and I’ve even been swimming in the pond a little bit. I love to run around the yard with my furry foster brother and then we curl up together for naps. I would love to have a calm doggy sibling to help with my confidence. I may warm up slowly, but once I trust you, I’m a loving, loyal cuddle buddy who just wants to feel safe and close to my people. I’ll come to my forever home neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines and preventatives. What I’m really hoping for is a patient, loving family who will keep cheering me on as I continue to grow into the happy, confident dog I’m becoming. I promise I’m trying my best—and I have so much love to give!
