Astro is a sweet soul on the hunt for his forever home. He will maintain his independence while following you around to see what you're up to, he wants to make sure all is well in the house. He will cuddle or let you pet him for a few minutes, but will make a face and plan to escape if it goes on for too long. Despite his small stature, Astro will make sure his home is well guarded by checking things out and alerting with barks if he thinks something is up, even if it turns out to just be the mail person! He can be cautious at first when meeting new pets and people, so making sure he gets to take his time feeling comfortable will be important. Astro came into rescue very skinny and malnourished; he has an underbite that makes it difficult to chew sometimes (and also makes him unbearably cute!), so he needs small kibble pieces or soft foods. Astro does well in the car and is a gentle boy that is eager to please, but wants things on his terms. He is a funky guy who is ready to find his happily ever after! Astro is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 3/21/2026 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 9am and noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Activity must be restricted for several weeks during recovery. RSR will cover the full cost of treatment. RSR will provide heartworm preventatives until the retest is due.
