Temu is a 6-year-old Chihuahua and Dachshund mix. She is friendly with other dogs of all sizes and does well with adult humans. She has not been around children in her foster home yet, so that is still a bit of a mystery. Temu can be cautious when meeting new people, but with a little patience and calm introductions she settles in nicely. Once she decides you are her person, she is a loyal and sweet little companion. She is mostly potty trained and has a moderate energy level, making her a great mix of playful and relaxed. Around the house, Temu enjoys keeping watch from her favorite chair where she can observe the world going by. She is a respectful housemate with other dogs and sometimes prefers to do her own thing, though she still likes being near her people. When bedtime comes around, she happily joins the pack upstairs. She may need a little lift onto the bed, but once she is there she sleeps quietly through the night, preferably on a nice soft pillow. Temu can be vocal when there is activity outside the home, when someone comes to the door, or when other dogs start barking. She is crate trained, rides well in the car, and has a calm, even temperament. Because she can be a bit protective of her person, slow introductions to new people will help her feel comfortable and confident. Overall, Temu is a sweet, gentle little dog who would likely do well in many types of homes. Whether she joins a household with other dogs or becomes the center of attention as the only pup, she is ready to find a calm, loving family who will appreciate her loyal heart and quiet companionship. Temu is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 3/21/2026 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 9am and noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame.
