About Scrappydoo D Arriving
Meet Scrappydoo (Scrappy for short), a 4-year-old Yorkshire Terrier/Schnauzer mix with a charming smile. Scrappy is a sweet, moderately active pup who gets along with dogs of all sizes and even with cats! He does best with adult humans and older, respectful children who understand his need for gentle interactions. Young kids who may grab or startle him can make him feel uneasy. When meeting new people, Scrappy can be a bit cautious at first, but with patience and a calm approach, he begins to show his affectionate and loyal nature. Scrappy is already leash and crate trained, and he settles nicely into a routine. He's still working on his potty training and may need a little extra guidance in his new home. Like many dogs adjusting to a new environment, he has been known to mark, so using a belly band and maintaining a consistent schedule will set him up for success. He may be a bit vocal when confined or kenneled, and because of his alert nature and initial hesitation with strangers, Scrappy would likely do best in a quieter home rather than an apartment or condo setting. Scrappy is looking for a patient, understanding home that will give him the time and structure he needs to feel safe and confident. In return, you'll get a loyal companion with an adorable grin. Scrappydoo is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 3/7/2026 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 830AM and 11PM. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Since they haven't arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start's Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Click here to learn more about the FTA program. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start's veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments.
