About Leno
Leno is a small, tricolor (brown, black, and white) Chihuahua/Miniature Pinscher mix with a big personality and a unique stride. At just four months old, he weighs in at 7.5 lbs and sports a short coat that's easy to maintain. Born with skeletal abnormalities affecting his hind legs, Leno's knee caps and some muscles didn't fully form, so he moves with a different gait. Despite this, he doesn't let anything slow him down—Leno is curious, constantly on the go, and playful. He recently got fitted with a wheelchair cart to help him get around the yard, and he's taking his time learning to use it for short outings. Leno can't handle stairs, so he'll need a home where he can be carried up and down if needed. For his safety and comfort, homes with small children or large dogs aren't the best fit. He does get along with both cats and other dogs when properly introduced. Leno isn't house trained yet and will need continued patience as he grows. His ideal adopter will be attentive to his special needs and able to provide a loving, supportive environment. Leno is neutered and current on vaccinations. As a fun fact, he was born on October 19, making him a Libra—a sign known for being social and adaptable. Click apply to start the adoption process.

Questions about Leno
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Leno, as a Chihuahua/Miniature Pinscher mix, adapts well to apartments and smaller homes as long as he gets enough interaction and exercise. With his unique mobility needs, a single-level home or a place without many stairs is ideal.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Leno benefits from access to a yard or safe outdoor area for supervised play. His small size and mobility challenges mean he doesn’t need extensive outdoor space—a small yard or patio often works well.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Chihuahua/Miniature Pinscher mixes like Leno can be suitable for families, but because of his special physical needs, he would do best in a home without small children to prevent accidental injury.
