About Tango
Start your journey together! Apply now. Meet Tango, an 8-year-old Chihuahua/Terrier mix weighing around 12 pounds. This quiet little guy recently lost his beloved owner and is still adjusting to the big changes in his life. While he’s learning to open up, Tango craves human attention and enjoys being doted on by his foster mom, though he prefers brief visits in a lap rather than long cuddle sessions. Nighttime finds him resting soundly in a large crate surrounded by blankets and stuffed animals, and he loves chew toys—especially noisy ones with squeakers! Tango is a work in progress with his potty training, so a patient adopter willing to reinforce good habits will help him blossom. He gets along well with other dogs (preferably 20 pounds or less) and would thrive in a home with or without canine companions. Because he can get quite vocal when he plays, he may not be the best fit for apartment living. Tango is best suited for homes with adults or older children (no toddlers or babies, please). He enjoys walks and does not require a fenced yard as long as he’s leashed and supervised—he'll want your attention anyway! Since he is still grieving and relearning house routines, Tango would love a consistent, loving environment to help him feel secure again. Tango is neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and current on preventatives. He has received a dental, is microchipped and dewormed. Out-of-state adopters are welcome but must arrange their own transport, as shipping is not available. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?

Questions about Tango
