About Fiona
What are you waiting for? Apply today! Meet Fiona, an active and fun-loving Border Collie/Shepherd mix rescued by Mostly Mutts. Approximately five years old and weighing about 33 lbs, Fiona arrived at the rescue a little underweight with some hair loss, but after good nutrition, medicated baths, and expert veterinary care, she’s now healthy and ready for her forever family! Fiona has participated in training programs, both at the prison/foster program and the Mostly Mutts University, where she mastered commands like 'sit', 'stay', 'down', 'come', 'drop it', 'leave it', and 'place.' She’s excellent with proper door etiquette and leash manners, and she greets strangers nicely without jumping. This smart girl is eager to please, learns quickly, and thrives with consistency and ongoing training. Free lifetime training classes are available for adopters through the rescue. Fiona enjoys active play, especially running and playing with balls—even if she hasn’t quite figured out fetch yet. She’s playful, affectionate, and focused. While she did well with other dogs at the rescue, especially males or females her size or smaller, any potential dog siblings should meet Fiona first to ensure compatibility. Her experience with children is positive, although she may do best without very young kids due to her playful mouthiness and exuberant energy. She’s crate trained and has demonstrated good potty habits in both foster and training settings. Fiona’s current on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed. Her future family should be aware of some moderate tartar on her teeth and thicker ears—a remnant of past ear infections—though she’s doing well now. Fiona is searching for a loving home to be cherished for life. If you’re in Kennesaw, GA or nearby, she could become your energetic and joyful new companion! This could be the start of something paw-some.
