About Leon
Leon is about 4 years old and weighs in around 60 lbs—he’s a mixed-breed Corgi/Border Collie with a sweet, sturdy presence. Mostly Mutts pulled him from animal control, and he’s been quick to soak up attention and affection from volunteers. Leon is currently off-site working hard in a prison/foster training program where he’s already mastered cues like 'sit,' 'come,' and 'leave it.' He’s still polishing his leash manners, sometimes zig-zagging as he enjoys the walk. Leon’s gentle energy comes through in little ways. He handled ear cleaning and his first paw spa very calmly, especially once the bath routine slowed down and got gentler. He’s not wild about being restrained or hugged and should be adopted into a home without other dogs; he’s reactive when meeting them and lunges or bares teeth. Kids should be older, as Leon’s a big, solid dog and doesn’t like restraint. Cats are unknown. His crate manners are solid and his housetraining is almost there—just a few accidents early on. He’s happiest with kindness, patience, and routine. The volunteers say he’s a gentle giant, and he bonds well with those who give him time. He’s neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, though he does need a muzzle for vet visits due to his dislike of being restrained during exams. Leon is in Kennesaw, GA and ready to find the family he deserves. Click apply to start the adoption process.
