We’ll have several dogs there looking for homes! ——————— ZANDER is a super cute 10 month old Husky/Pit Bull mix. He's a sweet-natured boy with the gentlest soul. This handsome pup may be 60 pounds, but he’s really just a shy baby at heart. Zander and his littermates didn’t get much early socialization, so the big world feels a little scary right now. New sights, sounds, and even leash walks are all brand new to him. But underneath that timid exterior is a loving, gentle young dog who just needs patience, kindness, and someone willing to show him that the world isn’t so scary after all. He would truly blossom in a home with another confident, social dog to help show him the ropes and be his buddy. With time, encouragement, and lots of love, Zander is going to shine. Watching this sweet boy learn to trust and grow in confidence will be such a beautiful and rewarding journey. If you have a soft spot for the shy ones, Zander is waiting for you. Sadly, ZANDER tested positive for heartworms. But please don’t let this scare you away! We just need to get him into a home during his treatment. The cost for the heartworm treatment is completely covered. We can provide you with more info about his heartworm treatment if you are interested in adopting or fostering him (we’d love to find him a foster home!). Once his treatment plan is completed, Zander will be able to live a normal healthy life with no restrictions! ADOPTING A DOG Our dogs have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and tested for heartworms (if 7 months or older). If you have a dog or children we ask that you bring them with you to meet our dogs to make sure it is a good match. We are open for meet and greet adoptions at our shelter on weekends. No appointment is necessary for weekend adoptions. Our weekend hours vary and we also have satellite adoption events every weekend.
