He's the quintessential "scruffy" terrier: tough-looking on the outside, but still figuring out how to trust the world around him. True to his namesake, Ted from How I Met Your Mother, this Ted has a bit of main character syndrome: He's convinced the world revolves around him. Ted is naturally cautious and a bit nervous, especially around quick movements or new people. If you reach for him too fast, he might offer a gentle warning, but he settles right down with slow handling and often melts into the petting once he realizes it's safe. Food is his biggest motivator — he'll work through just about anything for a tasty treat, which makes him surprisingly trainable and eager to please once he warms up. He's generally good with other dogs, cats, and people, though he can get a little defensive over his food and toys, so clear boundaries and supervised interactions are smart.
